1. Privacy Policy

A) For customers living in EEA member countries

METROL Co., Ltd. (hereinafter called “Company”) hereby officially announces that it shall handle any and all personal data (hereinafter called the “Personal Data”) of its customers (hereinafter called “Customer”) obtained through its website or exchange of business cards at exhibitions or business meetings, in accordance with the following policy.

Company processes the Personal Data and transfers them to a region outside EEA (Japan) on the basis of the prior consent of Customer.

Customer is entitled to withdraw at any time his/her consent to the handling of the Personal Data.

Any Customer who is not satisfied with the handling by Company of the Personal Data may file a complaint to a relevant supervisory authority of any member country of EEA.

Processing of Personal Data

▪ Purposes of processing of Personal Data
Company shall process the Personal Data of Customer only for the following purposes.
・Marketing or sales promotion such as introductions of the products of Company; or
・Performance of services of Company such as delivery of its products, after-sales services or responses to inquiries.

▪ Legitimate interest of processing of Personal Data
Company shall provide Customer with a “legitimate interest” through its direct marketing and/or product support by processing the Personal Data.
However, the protection of the Personal Data of Customer as well as the fundamental rights or freedom of Customer shall prevail over the interest provided by Company.

▪ Types of Personal Data
The Personal Data processed by Company shall be limited only to the following information in accordance with the necessity of the purpose of such processing.
・Name
・E-mail address
・Corporate name
・Department/Title
・Corporate address
・Corporate phone number/fax number

▪ Accuracy of Personal Data
・Customer may, at any time, make inquiries about his/her own Personal Data.
・Customer may, at any time, accurately modify or update his/her own Personal Data.
・Customer may, at any time, delete his/her own Personal Data.
・Customer may request Company to limit the use of his/her own Personal Data the accuracy of which is in the process of its verification.

▪ Restriction on storage of Personal Data
The storage period of the Personal Data shall be five (5) years from the last update of such Personal Data made by Customer him/herself.

▪ Confidentiality of Personal Data
The Personal Data shall be properly managed in the appropriate servers certified by the “Privacy Mark System” of Japan, in compliance with the “Personal Information Protection Law” of Japan.

Transfer of Personal Data to Regions Outside EEA

The Personal Data of Customer are transferred to Japan and stored in the servers in Japan.
Japan has not received an determination on “sufficiency of data protection” made by the European Commission, but Company shall properly manage the Personal Data in the appropriate servers certified by the Privacy Mark System of Japan, in compliance with the Personal Information Protection Law of Japan.

B) For customers living outside EEA member countries

Metrol Co., Ltd. (hereinafter called "Company") hereby officially announces that it shall handle any and all personal data (hereinafter called the "Personal Data") of its customers (hereinafter called "Customer") obtained through its website or exchange of business cards at exhibitions or business meetings, in accordance with the following policy.

Company may collect specific information by using Cookies to analyze the status of use of its website by Customer or to provide targeting advertisements to Customer.

※ “Cookie” is a small text file which is stored in a device of Customer, when such Customer gains access to a website.

Purpose of use of Cookies

In general, Cookie is a technology which enables Customer to use services without repeatedly entering the same information, by automatically identifying the device of such Customer, when such Customer views a website.
Customer may enhance the convenience for functional operation of browsers or accessibility to websites, etc., by saving his/her browsing history of the websites as Cookies on his/her device.

Company may analyze the status of use (status of access or traffic, etc.) of its website by Customer, by utilizing the information collected through the use of Cookies and use the results of such analysis for performance improvement of its website or targeting advertisements.

For this analysis, the following tools are mainly used.
Further, the Cookies sent by Company are stored in the server of each advertisement delivery service provider, together with the Cookies sent by such provider, and are handled in accordance with the privacy policy of such respective provider.
